n” “nLikewise, he indicated that within that universe of complaints, 73,295 cases corresponded to crimes of gender-based, domestic, and sexual violence, which reflects —as he said— the magnitude of the conflicts that impact social coexistence in the country.
n” “nThe official highlighted that the institution has identified that threats represent one of the main triggers of violence, noting that more than 25,000 complaints are registered annually for this crime, and that around 90% of these threats are related to death threats.
n” “n“We are using an ‘I’ll kill you’ as everyday language,” Reynoso expressed, warning that these types of expressions can escalate into acts of physical violence if they are not addressed in a timely manner.
n” “nThe attorney general also pointed out that, according to the Public Ministry’s analyses, 58.9% of homicides linked to social conflicts originate from situations of prior threats.
n” “nHe added that the Attorney General’s Office has created the Data Intelligence Directorate, with the objective of processing and grouping information provided by the National Police, prosecutors, and the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF), to improve the institutional response to criminality.
n” “nReynoso also warned about a global phenomenon of a reduction in the age of those who commit criminal acts, attributing it in part to changes in behavioral patterns influenced by the use of social media.
