From the entry into force of this provision, on March 1, 2026, the Comptroller’s Office has received 38 inspection requests, of which 33 have been evaluated, generating 28 non-objection authorizations and 5 observations, while another 5 are in process. These operations represent an amount of RD 170.51 million, evidencing the scope and impact of this new control mechanism.
Likewise, the comptroller reiterated the institutional commitment to strengthen the Governmental Internal Audit Units (UAI), with the aim of converting them into true instances of preventive control within each public entity.
In that sense, he highlighted that, while in 2021 there were 197 units, the figure has now risen to 284, which represents a significant increase in the internal control coverage. He maintained that their goal is to conclude this year with the opening of 15 new units, some of which have already been installed in the Ministry of Justice, the General Directorate of Dredges and the National Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services.
Another of the relevant announcements made within the framework of the commemoration was the launch of the citizen complaint line “Alerta Segura CGR”, scheduled for next May 6, as an additional tool to strengthen social participation in the fight against corruption and the misuse of public resources.
With this initiative, the Comptroller’s Office seeks to expand the channels of interaction with citizens and promote a culture of responsible reporting, which contributes to the timely detection of irregularities.
The institution also took the opportunity to reiterate its commitment to the values that guide its actions: integrity, efficiency, reliability, commitment and transparency, fundamental values to ensure public management oriented to results and collective well-being.
Following the religious act, a floral offering was held at the Altar de la Patria, with the purpose of honoring the memory of the national heroes Ramón Matías Mella, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, Gregorio Luperón and Antonio Duvergé, and in a very special way to the father of the country, Juan Pablo Duarte, for his selflessness, wisdom, understanding of the environment, sacrifice and, above all, for the immense love for his country.
