Vilma Núñez and Mariela Encarnación celebrate being part of “Dominicanos a Simple Vista: Florida”

Santo Domingo.- Renowned digital strategist Vilma Núñez and Dominican actress and journalist Mariela Encarnación expressed how happy they feel to be part of the fourth destination of the documentary series, “Dominicanos a Simple Vista Florida” (Dominicans at First Sight Florida).

“We are happy. We are part of the protagonists, because the truth is that Vilma did a great job, right? We don’t have the images here, but you know she did a research project, which I imagine was very complicated and difficult for a very simple reason: there are many of us Dominicans, I imagine they are going to have to make several versions of Dominicans at a glance in Florida, that we are paving the way,” expressed journalist Mariela Encarnación.

While digital marketing specialist Vilma Núñez stated and highlighted that achieving recognition in one’s own country represents a significant accomplishment and an opportunity to inspire other Dominicans to pursue their own goals.

“It is truly an honor to be prophets in our own country, as well. Which is an achievement that is not easy, so here we are representing our definition of success to motivate other people and other Dominicans to live it as well,” affirmed the speaker Vilma Núñez.

Showcase stories of identity and overcoming adversity

The film that shows the public a broad look at Dominicans abroad, through testimonies connected by a common starting point: the different ways in which identity, preparation, resilience, and a sense of belonging accompany Dominicans who build their lives outside the country.

Núñez stated that behind every achievement there are sacrifices, failures, and perseverance, which is why he seeks to turn his experience into a message of motivation for those who work to achieve their goals.

“All of us have paid a price that has not been seen. Today we can enjoy great rewards, great fruits, but behind it there have been many no’s, many yes’s, many failures, many successes. And perhaps our message, our own success can motivate another person not to give up, to be disciplined, to be persistent,” stated the digital entrepreneur.

Mariela Encarnación: “Whoever dreams big, can create”

Meanwhile, Mariela Encarnación highlighted that behind every success story lies the determination to believe in dreams and dare to turn them into reality.

“We are aware that a person who dreams big and can believe it, can create it. So these stories, each one, well I believe they share the similarity of that willpower, of believing in dreams and daring to go after them,” pointed out the CNN journalist and presenter.

Before arriving in Florida, the project’s destinations included New York, Madrid, and Boston, continuing a route that brings the public closer to different stories and experiences of the Dominican community abroad.

With this new installment, “Dominicans at a Glance: Florida” reaffirms its purpose of making visible the talent, stories of overcoming, and contributions of the Dominican community abroad, showing how its protagonists keep the bond with their roots alive while building new opportunities and leaving their mark outside the Dominican Republic.
