Baní, Peravia.– Members of the South Central Regional Intelligence Sub-directorate (DINTEL), in coordination with the Public Ministry and with the support of the Preventive Police, carried out two raids in the Villa Majega sector, Baní municipality, Peravia province, where they seized two pistols, a shotgun, an air rifle, military gear, ammunition, and cigarettes allegedly brought into the country illegally.
The interventions were carried out in compliance with investigative tasks aimed at locating firearms and other illicit objects.
During the first raid, carried out at a home located on Las Mercedes street, owned by Yeffry Eduardo Montero González, nicknamed “Carpentiso”, the authorities seized a Springfield Armory brand pistol, 9 millimeter caliber, with its magazine and five cartridges, which was found inside a safe fixed to a wall of the residence.

In the same property, an A.V. Avenger air rifle, .25 caliber, an air tank for said equipment, a camouflaged military jacket, as well as a pack and three cartons of cigarettes of different brands, presumably smuggled, were also seized. As a result of this intervention, Montero González was detained for investigation purposes.
While in a second raid, carried out at another residence on the same street and sector, owned by Cristian Gabriel Montero Cabrera, alias “Gabriel”, the acting agents seized a Glock brand pistol, 9 millimeter caliber, with its magazine and twelve cartridges, in addition to a Remington brand shotgun, 12 caliber.
The detainee and the seized evidence will be referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal procedures.
