Baní. Members of the Regional Intelligence Sub-directorate (DINTEL), in coordination with the Public Ministry and the support of the Preventive Police, executed four simultaneous raids in different sectors of the municipality of Baní, Peravia province, as part of the actions aimed at confronting the illegal possession of firearms.
n” “nDuring the operations, the authorities seized two pistols, a shotgun, a homemade firearm (chilena type), a bladed weapon, and various ammunition of different calibers, in addition to arresting one person linked to the events.
n” “nThe first raid was carried out in the Villa Majega sector, at a residence linked to Guillermo Antonio Díaz Puello, alias “El Negro,” where a bayonet and two 7.65-millimeter rifle cartridges were seized.

In a second intervention in the same sector, Hiron Antonio Guillén was arrested after a homemade firearm, known as a “chilena,” along with a 12-millimeter caliber cartridge, was found in his residence.
In a third residence raided in Villa Majega, owned by Nelson Manuel Moscat Binet, known as “Hijo”, the authorities seized a 9-millimeter caliber pistol with its magazine, an additional magazine, 23 rounds of the same caliber, and a 12-millimeter caliber shotgun.
n” “nMeanwhile, in the El Sifón sector of Mata Gorda, a residence linked to Ramón Antonio Fulgencio Echevarría, alias “Tuti,” was raided, where another 9-millimeter caliber pistol with its magazine and five rounds were seized.

The National Police reported that the detainee and the seized evidence were referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes.
