Santo Domingo.– The Government of the Dominican Republic expressed this Thursday its energetic repudiation of the attack perpetrated by Israel in the territory of the State of Qatar, by pointing out that this fact constitutes a violation of the sovereignty of that nation and of international law.
The official position was disseminated through a statement published on the X account (formerly Twitter) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), which reiterated the Dominican commitment to peace, respect between states, and the defense of the fundamental principles of international coexistence.
“Dominican Republic is convinced that the only way to achieve peace and resolve conflicts between states in a lasting manner is through sustained and tenacious dialogue,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in the document.
In that sense, the Dominican Government urged the conflicting parties to cease hostilities and to resume diplomatic channels as a solution mechanism. Likewise, it recalled that dialogue and negotiation are the only instruments capable of guaranteeing regional stability and respect for human rights.
The Chancellery reaffirmed that the country will maintain its position of support for international peace, adhering to multilateralism and defending the principles of the United Nations Charter, which establishes respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-intervention in the internal affairs of States.
