During the meeting, representatives from the distributor presented the user with the energy consumption history for the year 2024, explaining that consumption was greater than the energy exported by the installed solar panels, which generated the outstanding invoices. According to the company, the invoices in question correspond to the months of January, August, September, October, November, and December of 2024, which were issued independently and not accumulated in a single billing. Regarding the claim process, the company recalled that Mrs. Guzman submitted her case to the Electricity Consumer Protection Directorate (PROTECOM), an entity that on January 29, 2025, declared the claim “unfounded.” During the investigation, the invoices were protected, preventing the suspension of service until the conclusion of the administrative process.

Likewise, the Commercial Management of the Mao Sector and the Net Measurement Department, in charge of attending to the cases of users with solar or renewable energy systems, were made available to the client. “Our priority is to offer a service based on transparency, respect, and technical guidance. We are always willing to listen and seek solutions within the current regulatory framework,” said a representative of EDENORTE. At the end of the meeting, Milagros Altagracia Guzmán thanked for the attention received and offered a public apology for the events of the weekend, positively valuing the company’s openness and willingness to offer explanations and clarify the points in dispute. Finally, EDENORTE Dominicana reiterated its commitment to maintain a close relationship with customers, ensuring that billing, metering, and claims processes are handled in accordance with the law, transparency, and good corporate practice.
