Santo Domingo.– Several units of the National District and Santo Domingo East Fire Department, along with authorities from the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD), participated in the efforts to extinguish the fire that affected one of the main warehouses of Merca Santo Domingo.
The fire concentrated in the area where products such as dried grains and beverages are sold. Firefighters have been working for over three hours to control the fire, although active hotspots still persist in some areas. So far, no casualties have been reported, but material losses have been considerable, according to the merchants themselves.
