First biometric passports will be ready by October, announces Abinader

Santo Domingo. – President Luis Abinader informed this Monday, during his weekly meeting with the press called La Semanal, that the first biometric passports could be available from October of this year in the Dominican Republic. The president explained that the implementation of this new document will guarantee greater security in the identification of citizens, streamline processes, and bring the country closer to meeting international travel standards. Also, the head of State assured that DR is the second country with the highest air connectivity index in all of Latin America, after Mexico, while reviewing the investments that his administration is making in this sector.
