NEW YORK.– The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, as part of the agenda he is carrying out in New York City on the occasion of his participation in the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), led this Sunday the delivery of the first biometric passport to a Dominican family residing in the United States.
The event took place at the Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in New York, where the new travel document, which incorporates biometric technology and modern security mechanisms, was officially presented.
The new passport will be valid for 10 years and, among its benefits, includes insurance of up to 9 thousand dollars for the repatriation of deceased Dominicans, a coverage intended to provide support to families in the event of the death of a relative abroad.
