Santo Domingo.– Former presidential candidate Gonzalo Castillo spoke about his possible return to the electoral arena, leaving the door open to a possible candidacy in 2028. Although he assured that he has no presidential aspirations at this moment, he acknowledged that “a two years away, it is impossible to say what could happen”.
Castillo, who represented the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) in the 2020 elections, offered these statements amid the debate over the future leadership of the political organization. “I don’t have those aspirations now, but two years is a long time in politics,” he said. You may be interested in: http://Ciudadanos valoran positivamente que niños de tres años entren a la escuela
The businessman also took the opportunity to emphasize that a possible candidacy is not built individually. “When a president comes to power, he doesn’t do it alone; a whole party arrives, an experienced technical team arrives,” he pointed out, insisting that the PLD will unite around the leader who achieves the greatest popular support at the appropriate time. Although he avoided committing to a specific political project, his words were interpreted by many as a sign that he does not rule out returning to the presidential race if circumstances favor him.
