Azua. – The United States Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Leah Campos; the presidential hopeful of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Gonzalo Castillo; and the businessman and communicator Santiago Matías (Alofoke) met this Friday in Azua during a commemorative event for the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States.
During the meeting, which brought together various personalities, the American diplomatic representative shared in a cordial atmosphere with the attendees, within the framework of a day dedicated to commemorating the two and a half centuries of the North American nation’s independence.

Castillo’s presence occurred while he is carrying out an agenda of political and territorial activities ahead of the PLD’s internal process, scheduled for next October 18.
Likewise, the presence of Santiago Matías, one of the most prominent figures in Dominican digital communication and entertainment, who also participated in the activity held in Azua, drew attention.

The coincidence of Campos, Castillo, and Matías generated interest among those present, as they are figures linked to different fields: diplomacy, politics, and communication.
Castillo had already participated, last July, in the official reception organized by the United States Embassy on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of American independence, an occasion on which he highlighted the historical ties between both countries and expressed his interest in continuing to strengthen relations between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
The activity in Azua is part of the commemorative initiatives related to the 250 years of American independence and served as a setting to bring together representatives from different sectors of Dominican public life.
