Santo Domingo.- Judges of a court in the judicial district of Sánchez Ramírez sentenced a young woman to 30 years in prison who last year killed another by stabbing her 40 times, the Public Ministry reported this Tuesday.

According to the indictment, the event occurred during the night of March 26, 2024, in Moncho Alley, located in the municipal district of Quita Sueño, Cotuí, in the province of Sánchez Ramírez. Prior to the events, the convicted person had bought a bottle of ammonia at a pharmacy and a gallon of gasoline at a gas station. Judges Ramón Emilio Pérez, Bolívar Reynoso Hinojosa and Mairely Lazala, of the Collegiate Court of Sánchez Ramírez, handed down the guilty verdict and ordered its enforcement at the Correction and Rehabilitation Center (CCR) Najayo Mujeres, in the province of San Cristóbal. Hiraldo Peña was found guilty of violating articles 295, 296, 297 and 302 of the Dominican Penal Code and articles 83 and 85 of Law 631-16 for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials.
