They arrest “Argenis Kodigo” for links to drug trafficking and money laundering network

SANTO DOMINGO.- The Public Ministry reported this Friday the arrest of Argenis Santana Herrera, alias Argenis Kodigo, identified as part of a criminal organization dedicated to drug trafficking and money laundering, dismantled at the beginning of this week in a joint operation with the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD). Santana Herrera, who was wanted by the authorities, surrendered at the Prosecutor’s Office of Santo Domingo Este, where he was arrested by court order by the Fugitives, Rebels and Convicts Capture Unit (Ucaprec). During the previous raids, Alfredo Samboy Félix (Burungo) and Suleica Herrera Geraldo were also arrested.

The operation involved the participation of 21 prosecutors, more than 150 DNCD agents and Navy personnel, who carried out 15 simultaneous raids in the National District, Santo Domingo East and Baní. As a result, properties, nightclubs, vehicles, a boat, firearms, cash, jewelry and electronic equipment were seized. The nightclubs Kodigo VIP, in Santo Domingo Este, and Flow Room, in the National District, were also occupied as part of the properties linked to the network, which in 2024 had already had 20 packages of cocaine seized in Villa Mella. The Public Ministry announced that investigations are ongoing to identify more individuals involved in the criminal structure.
