Aura Celeste Fernández Rodríguez is appointed as General Manager of the National Council for Social Security

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader appointed Dr. Aura Celeste Fernández Rodríguez as General Manager of the National Council for Social Security, CNSS, through Decree No. 541-25, issued on this date. As indicated by Law 87-01, which created the Dominican Social Security System and regulates the operation of said entity, it is the CNSS itself that sends the President of the Republic a shortlist of people who meet the legal requirements to hold said position.

The aforementioned shortlist was received by President Abinader, through communication no. 00001997, dated September 19, 2025, and, in addition to Dr. Fernández Rodríguez, Mr. Pedro Rodríguez Velásquez and Félix Joel Almonte Inoa were nominated for such purposes.

Aura Celeste Fernández Rodríguez is a lawyer with over 40 years of experience. She was a member of the Central Electoral Board in two periods, coordinator of the Commission to Support the Reform and Modernization of Justice, member of the commission of jurists that drafted the Preliminary Draft Constitutional Reform that culminated in the 2010 Constitution, and is honorary president of the National Bioethics Council in Health.
