Santo Domingo.– The Judicial Office of Permanent Attention Services of the National District will hear this Sunday, starting at 9:00 a.m., the request for a coercive measure against Lenin Jhericop Núñez de León, accused of the death of the young man Emmanuel Contreras Medina.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office requested that Núñez de León be held in preventive detention, considering there is a risk of flight, because, according to the case file, the defendant left the country after the incident occurred.

Contreras Medina passed away on September 9, after remaining in a coma for several days under intensive care at the Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital, as a result of the injuries he sustained during an incident that occurred on July 1 at a baseball field in the Los Praditos sector.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Núñez de León allegedly chased the victim with a bat and struck him on the back and head, causing him to fall to the pavement.
The investigation establishes that the incident occurred after a meeting arranged for the delivery of an iPhone 15 Pro Max, in an operation that also involves Joan Manuel Jiménez Medina, identified by the Public Prosecutor’s Office as the person who allegedly received the victim’s money for the phone.
Núñez de León was arrested this past September 11 at the Las Américas International Airport (AILA), by virtue of an arrest warrant issued against him.
This Sunday’s hearing will be decisive in establishing the coercive measure that the defendant must serve while the judicial process for the death of Emmanuel Contreras Medina progresses.
