Santo Domingo.- The Jesus Christ Fountain of Love Churches Association called for action against crime and the high cost of living upon concluding its XXXVI Convention, in which ministers and pastors also proposed measures regarding femicides, irregular migration, road safety, drug trafficking, and the protection of vulnerable sectors.
The church presented an eight-point statement in which it sets out its position on different social issues and requests responses from the corresponding institutions.
Pastor Robert Gómez, representative of the religious organization, analyzed immigration and weather conditions, as well as the role of churches in the communities where they maintain a presence, and explained that the assembly seeks to guide its members on situations that affect both the country and other nations.
The clergyman indicated that the Jesus Christ Fountain of Love Church Association maintains congregations in Central America, South America, various states in the United States, and India.

Calls to strengthen actions against crime
In the first of the points of the joint statement, the Council of Ministers and Pastors, led by Pastor Luis Alberto Reyes, requested to deepen actions against common delinquency, social violence, and organized crime.

The organization proposes the preventive use of state intelligence agency services to identify situations that could lead to criminal acts.
It also proposes that the prosecution of offenses and the enforcement of laws be carried out without distinction.
Similarly, the Council of Ministers and Pastors rejected violence against women and called for the implementation of public prevention policies, and they also requested that those responsible for these crimes be prosecuted in accordance with the laws.
