Man arrested for allegedly killing his brother during family dispute in Santiago
Santiago.- The National Police arrested and brought to justice Alejandro Antonio Curiel López, 59, accused of killing his brother, Geraldo Antonio Curiel López, 60, during a family discussion in the Mari López sector of this city.
The event occurred on the morning of September 17, 2025, when in the midst of a domestic altercation Alejandro allegedly injured his brother with a bladed weapon. The victim was taken in critical condition to a health center, but died on September 19 due to a stab wound to the left side, according to the coroner’s report.
According to the preliminary report, both brothers lived in the same residence and the causes that triggered the aggression are still being investigated. The weapon used was a dagger approximately 16 inches long.
After the event, agents of the National Police arrested Alejandro Antonio Curiel López, who was handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding purposes. The authorities continue the investigations to clarify the motives of the tragedy.
