Odalis Marcelino Vega assumes executive sub-direction of Inespre by presidential appointment

Santo Domingo. President Luis Abinader appointed communicator and former mayor of Hato Mayor del Rey, Odalis Marcelino Vega, as the new executive deputy director of the Price Stabilization Institute (Inespre), through Decree no. 466-26, issued on July 9, 2026.

With this designation, Vega becomes part of the institution’s management team responsible for promoting programs aimed at facilitating the population’s access to basic food basket products at affordable prices and strengthening food security policies.

Odalis Marcelino Vega has a background in the field of communication, where she has worked in various national media outlets, an experience she complements with her time in public administration.

Between 2016 and 2020, he served as mayor of the Hato Mayor del Rey municipality, a position from which he promoted initiatives focused on urban development, the recovery of public spaces, and the execution of community-interest projects to improve the living conditions of the residents.

The incorporation of the former mayor into Inespre occurs as part of the movements carried out by the Executive Branch to strengthen the management of various State institutions.

Vega replaces Ramón Francisco (Samuel) Toribio in the position, who held the executive sub-directorship of the agency until the issuance of the presidential decree.
