Residents of Los Girasoles demand urgent repair of streets in poor condition

Santo Domingo. – Residents of the Los Girasoles sector, in the National District, requested the corresponding authorities to urgently repair the streets of their community, which present an advanced level of deterioration, with numerous holes and unevenness that affect both pedestrians and drivers. The main internal roads in the sector, including high-traffic streets like Emma Balaguer, are in conditions that hinder daily mobility and pose a danger, especially on rainy days, when the potholes fill with water and become invisible to those who travel through the area.

Residents claim that the situation has worsened over the months, causing frequent damage to vehicles, hindering public transport and generating health problems due to stagnant water. Faced with this situation, the community members are calling on the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and the mayor’s office of the National District to prioritize the asphalting, patching, and conditioning of the streets of Los Girasoles, in order to improve the quality of life and road safety in the sector.
