San Juan de la Maguana. – Mayor Lenin de la Rosa held several meetings with the ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in the country, Chen Luning, and a group of entrepreneurs from different sectors, to whom he presented the potential of San Juan as a destination for investment.
The visit included meetings in the mayor’s office, a tour of the local free zone, tobacco farms, and the Chamber of Commerce, where the importance of generating strategic alliances to boost the province’s development was highlighted.
The mayor of La Rosa thanked the investors and the ambassador for their interest, highlighting that their presence opens up new opportunities for San Juan. “This approach places our community on the path of collective development,” he affirmed.
For his part, Ambassador Chen Luning expressed optimism regarding the opportunities detected and positively valued the mayor’s efforts to promote the city. He also pointed out that China has extensive experience in road infrastructure, which could be of interest in projects such as the Cibao-Sur highway, proposed by legislators from both regions.
The delegation also visited the grape farm of the Universidad Federico Henríquez y Carvajal (UFHEC), in Pedro Corto, where the agricultural potential of the area was presented. The entrepreneurs showed great interest in local production, especially in San Juan tobacco, whose quality was highlighted by businesswoman Wung Lili, who raised the possibility of acquiring larger volumes for export through a free zone installed in the country.
