Espaillat.- Six people dead and more than 40 injured is the balance as of this Monday morning of the traffic accident registered yesterday afternoon on the Moca-Jamao al Norte highway, when a bus returning from a tour overturned near the area known as La Cumbre, in the municipality of San Víctor, Espaillat province.

The crashed bus was transporting a group of people returning from Río San Juan to the municipality of Esperanza, when the tragic event occurred. Two of the fatalities have been identified as Liz Manuel Molina Mezquita and Winifer Aragonés. Part of the injured have been transferred to health centers in Santiago de los Caballeros.Following the accident, the National Emergency and Security Attention System 911 coordinated assistance to those affected by deploying more than ten ambulances from the Directorate of Extrahospital Emergency Care Services (DAEH) and brigades from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) to the scene, a unit of the National Police and another from the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transport Safety (Digesett), as well as three units from the Fire Department and the Military and Police Commission (Comipol).
