Santo Domingo.– Despite the unstable atmospheric conditions recorded this weekend, some surfers took advantage of the waves at the Güibia boardwalk, in the National District, to practice this water sport, attracting the attention of passers-by and onlookers who were in the area. The gusts of wind and the movement of the sea created a favorable setting for surfing, especially during the early hours of the day.

It is reminded that the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that a weak prefrontal trough is affecting the national territory, generating passing showers between weak and moderate, as well as isolated wind gusts. These conditions have contributed to more active waves in coastal areas, including the southern coast, where Güibia is located. During the morning, Indomet reported showers in eastern and northeastern provinces, while in the afternoon the rainfall extended to areas such as Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal and Monte Plata. Although the rains have been less intense than in previous days, the wind associated with the trough has influenced the behavior of the Caribbean Sea.
