Vicente Sánchez Baret, a Dominican political figure and founder of the PRD and PRM, passes away.

Santo Domingo, R.D. – The Dominican Republic bids farewell with sorrow to veteran political leader and public servant Vicente Sánchez Baret, one of the most influential figures in the country’s modern politics and founder of the Dominican Revolutionary (PRD) and Modern Revolutionary (PRM) parties. Over more than five decades, Sánchez Baret distinguished himself for his vocation of service, his honesty, and his commitment to democracy, values that marked his time in public administration and made him a benchmark of integrity in the state function.
