Woman injured after assault in Santiago by two men on motorcycle
Santiago. – A woman was injured after being assaulted by two men traveling on a motorcycle, in an incident that occurred in broad daylight in the El Ingenio Arriba sector, near the roundabout of the municipal district of Santiago Oeste.
The victim, identified as María Jiménez, reported that the assault took place around 1:00 p.m. this Friday, while she was in front of the grocery store Xavier, which she owns.
According to her testimony, one of the assailants attacked her with a knife in one of her hands when she tried to resist the robbery, after which she was stripped of her cell phone. Due to the injuries suffered, Jiménez was transferred to a health center to receive medical attention.
The event was captured by a security camera, in whose images it is observed how the aggressors act quickly before fleeing the scene.
Jiménez asked the police authorities to reinforce patrolling in the area, since, according to reports from residents, robberies and assaults have become frequent in the community.
So far, the National Police has not offered official information about the case nor confirmed whether those responsible have been identified or arrested.
The incident has generated concern among the residents of El Ingenio Arriba, who reiterate their call to the authorities to improve security in the area in the face of the increase in criminal acts.
