Santo Domingo East.– A young man known as “Bebo” lost his life this Thursday during an alleged exchange of gunfire with members of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM), in an incident that occurred on Benigno Castro Street, in the San José de Mendoza sector.
According to accounts provided by local residents, police officers were tracking several individuals who were traveling on a motorcycle that had allegedly been reported as stolen.
Residents indicated that, during the pursuit, the young men allegedly entered a home, where an exchange of gunfire subsequently took place between the suspected individuals and the responding officers.
In the midst of the incident, one of the young men, identified only by the nickname “Bebo”, was wounded and subsequently passed away.

So far, the authorities have not offered a detailed official version regarding the circumstances in which the event occurred, nor have they confirmed the full identity of the deceased.
The National Police and the Public Ministry are expected to expand the investigations to establish how the events unfolded and determine the corresponding responsibilities.
