Miami, FL – Under a radiant Miami sun, the city of Miami Beach officially celebrated the renaming ceremony of 13th Street, next to Ocean Drive, as Gloria Estefan Way, in honor of the Grammy-winning artist whose music, heart, and cultural heritage have helped define the city’s identity for decades. The emotional and joyful event brought together local authorities, personalities, and numerous fans, all with the purpose of paying tribute to the woman who put Miami on the world music map. For Gloria Estefan, it was a special moment that she shared with her husband of 47 years, Emilio Estefan.

“It’s an euphoric feeling,” Gloria expressed when asked about what it meant to receive this recognition in her hometown.“I love that she has the last name Estefan, because everything we have achieved has been together,” she added. “I wouldn’t be here without Emilio. We have done everything together, and when I go up there, I’m going to put Gloria and Emilio.”

The singer also thanked the city for recognizing her as a leading and influential woman. “Being recognized in such an incredible way, as a woman, is something I deeply appreciate to the Miami Beach and Miami-Dade commissioners who made it possible.”“We feel part of this city.
