Santo Domingo.- The well-known television presenter, designer, and fashion expert, Rodner Figueroa, referred in a recent interview to the so-called influencers who are hired as “presenters” on television channels, assuring that they “do not know how to speak”, and lack preparation to assume such roles. Figueroa pointed out on “A mi me parece podcast” that the popularity and millions of followers on social media that a content creator has are not enough to do a great job on television, as many of them do not know how to speak, stand in front of the cameras, read a prompter and much less possess any knowledge of social communication.

“The influencer’s followers are not interested in seeing him drive on television. Furthermore, they don’t know how to speak, they don’t know how to read a prompter, they have no knowledge of social communication, so it’s not the medium for them,” Figueroa expressed in the podcast “A mi me parece”.

The well-known host, who was a talent of important television networks internationally, such as Univision and Telemundo, added that seeing these influencers trying to be presenters, well in full exercise “It’s horrible!”, seeing them trying to do something they don’t know and for which they have not prepared.

Figures support Rodner Figueroa’s proposals

After going viral on social media, the short excerpt from the interview shared on the podcast’s Instagram, internet users on social media, started an intense one in which well-known journalists and television figures also joined. These, for the most part, agreed with Rodner, asserting that many of these media figures believe they have the ability without even training in the field. Others claimed that the ego and popularity of many content creators leads them to feel more important than figures with a long history and experience in television.
