Rosalía makes a donation to UNICEF in support of children in Venezuela

Madrid.- Rosalía made a significant financial donation to Unicef to support children in Venezuela following the double earthquake that affected the north of the country on June 24th, and the Spanish Emergency Committee, made up of eight NGOs specializing in humanitarian aid, will donate one million euros.
The UN Agency announced through its social media this contribution with the image of a girl over which one can read: ‘Rosalía, thank you from the heart’, and it continues that with her help and that of the Rosalía Foundation they will be able to provide drinking water for more than 30,000 boys and girls for a month, in addition to medical care for 25,000 people.

They will also provide safe spaces where thousands of boys and girls will be able to be protected and accompanied during such a difficult time.
Unicef thanked Rosalía in its message, stating that “your voice, sensitivity, and generosity are reaching exactly where they are needed most. Thank you for being close to the children of Venezuela,” and added: “Your voice not only fills stadiums and moves us all, but it also brings hope to those who need it most.”
The Catalan singer is currently on tour in the United States with the ‘LUX Tour’. During her concert in Las Vegas, she gave a warm tribute to the situation in Venezuela and appealed for the affection and support they need.
One million euros from the Emergency Committee
On the other hand, the Spanish Emergency Committee, made up of eight NGOs specializing in humanitarian aid, raised one million euros for the population of Venezuela, which will be used to guarantee food security, access to drinking water, and hygiene for people in vulnerable situations, as reported in a press release.
It will also support the operation of shelters and refuges for those who lost their homes.

This committee was activated on June 25th, one day after the earthquakes, to channel aid from Spanish society, including donations from individuals, companies, and the media.
The funds were allocated to the eight NGOs that comprise it: Action Against Hunger, SOS Children’s Villages, Educo, Entreculturas, Doctors of the World, Oxfam Intermón, Plan International, and World Vision.
The latest official data on this tragedy bring the death toll to 2,595 and the number of injured to 12,400.
