Padre Las Casas, Azua.– The director of Regional Education 03, teacher José Antonio de los Santos, led the institutional participation in the 8th Gala of the Liceo en Artes Eugenio María de Hostos Center, where student talent and the value of Dominican cultural identity through art were demonstrated.
The activity, organized by Educational District 03-02, was held under the theme “Artistic Journeys: Origin and Journey of Our Identity”, bringing together educational authorities, municipal representatives, and actors from the business sector.
The event was dedicated to merengue singer Kinito Méndez, in recognition of his career and contribution to Dominican music. During the event, the artist thanked the educational community for the distinction.
Among the attendees, the presence of doña Jesussa Lebrón, the artist’s mother, was also highlighted, whose participation added an emotional touch to the activity, by accompanying the recognition of her son in his community of origin.
In his speech, the regional director valued the effort of students, teachers, and organizers, highlighting the commitment to a comprehensive education that fosters creativity and artistic expression.
The gala included stage presentations, craft exhibitions, costume jewelry, and audiovisual productions, demonstrating the educational level of the students in the arts modality.
Also present were the district director, Elvido Delgado; the deputy director, María Estela Corcino; as well as regional and national technicians of the Arts Modality, including Scarlin Beltré, Samuel Elías Cuello, Juan Elías Peña and Juan Carlos Castillo.
This initiative is part of the educational system’s efforts to strengthen artistic training and promote cultural identity in the province of Azua.
