Delcy Rodríguez replaces the Minister of Transport in the midst of an emergency due to the earthquakes

Caracas.- The acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, appointed civil engineer Francisco Garcés as Minister of Transport this Sunday, replacing the Chavista Jacqueline Faría, in the midst of the emergency caused by the devastating earthquakes of June 24 that left at least 3,342 dead.

The Ministry of Transport has been in charge in recent days of inspecting affected road infrastructure and mobilizing machinery for recovery and maintenance work, especially in the devastated coastal region of La Guaira (north, adjacent to Caracas), the area hardest hit by the earthquakes, with numerous building collapses and damage to roads.
