Venezuela.– More than 150 unidentified bodies were buried in an extensive row of individual graves in a cemetery in Venezuela, as part of the response efforts following the earthquakes on June 24, which have left more than 3,300 dead, according to the most recent official toll.
The earthquakes, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5, caused the collapse of numerous buildings in Caracas and caused serious damage in the state of La Guaira, where search and recovery efforts for victims among the rubble continue.

According to Venezuelan authorities, the death toll has risen to 3,342, while 16,740 people were injured. The magnitude of the disaster has forced the setup of temporary spaces for handling bodies, due to the saturation of morgues and hospitals.
In the municipality of Catia La Mar, in La Guaira, work crews used heavy machinery to dig dozens of individual graves at La Esperanza cemetery, where victims whose identities have not yet been established were buried.
According to the authorities, each grave was duly numbered and identified with a special code to facilitate eventual location by their relatives. In addition, the bodies were photographed before their burial as part of the registration process.
The graves were marked with white crosses and plaques with the inscription “Special identification”, accompanied by the date of death: June 24, 2026.
As rescue and recovery efforts continue, Venezuela commemorated its Independence Day this July 5th with the national flag at half-mast in honor of the victims. During the official ceremonies, authorities assured that they are maintaining assistance efforts for the communities affected by the tragedy.
