SILVERSTONE, England (EFE). Ferrari’s Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc won the British Grand Prix this Sunday, the ninth round of the Formula One World Championship, by prevailing at the Silverstone circuit and securing his first victory of the 2026 season.

Leclerc, 28, signed the ninth victory of his career in the top category of motorsport after completing a solid performance that allowed him to cross the finish line ahead of the British drivers George Russell (Mercedes) and Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari).
The race concluded behind the safety car following the accident suffered by the reigning champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who retired after an incident without physical consequences.
However, the podium could undergo modifications, as Hamilton is under investigation for an alleged infringement during a yellow flag period, a situation that could cost him third place and even the points earned.
The British driver Lando Norris (McLaren), who finished in fourth position, would be the main beneficiary if a penalty is finally applied to Hamilton.
In the rest of the classification, Isack Hadjar (Red Bull) stood out in fifth; Liam Lawson (RB) in sixth; the debutant Arvid Lindblad (RB) in seventh; Gabriel Bortoleto (Audi) in eighth; the Argentine Franco Colapinto (Alpine) in ninth; and the Frenchman Pierre Gasly (Alpine) in tenth.
The championship leader, Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes), had a complicated race after suffering two mechanical failures and finished in sixteenth position, while the Spaniards Carlos Sainz (Williams) and Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) finished twelfth and eighteenth, respectively.
