Amaury Nina Academy mourns the passing of prospect Gustavo Talmar

Santo Domingo.- The Amaury Nina Academy, dedicated to the training and development of baseball talents, expressed its deepest sorrow for the death of the young prospect Gustavo Talmaré, 14 years old, which occurred early this Saturday due to drowning in a lagoon.

According to the information provided by the academy, yesterday Friday afternoon, Gustavo participated in a practice game at the facilities of the complex located in Santo Domingo Este and, after finishing, he left with four other teammates and went to a lagoon located 40 minutes away, where the tragedy occurred. “This is a devastating moment. Gustavo was not only a promising talent, he was a young man full of dreams and human qualities that made him very special to everyone. On behalf of the Amaury Nina Academy, we send our most sincere condolences and all our solidarity to his parents, family, and friends in this painful moment,” expressed Nina, coach and owner of the academy. The lifeless body of the young baseball player was recovered by members of rescue organizations, such as 911 and the Dominican Air Force, who worked all night and early morning this Saturday. Talmaré, recognized for his enthusiasm and talent on the field, was part of the Dominican Republic team that represented the country in the Caribbean Series Kids 2024, held in Panama, where he won the award for Most Valuable Player for being a home run leader.
