Gigantes del Cibao sign reliever Huáscar Brazobán again for next season

San Francisco de Macorís. – The Gigantes del Cibao announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Húscar Brazobán, who agreed as a free agent to continue with the organization for the upcoming season of the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League.

Brazobán, 36 years old and a native of Santo Domingo, will continue to wear the uniform of the northeastern team, with which he has pitched consecutively for the last five seasons since his arrival in the 2021 season, establishing himself as a key piece within the bullpen. In the regular season, the right-hander has a 2-2 record with an ERA of 2.17 in 51 games, working 45.2 innings in which he has allowed 26 hits, given up 20 walks and struck out 53 batters, for a solid WHIP of 1.01. During the past season with the Colts, the reliever pitched seven innings, recording a 0-0 record, an ERA of 2.57, five strikeouts, and one save, providing depth and experience to the bullpen. The Major League pitcher joins Jimmy Cordero and Leury García as part of the first confirmed players to continue on the team, within the initial continuity movements while the franchise works on future incorporations. With this signing, the Giants reinforce their commitment to the stability and experience of key players, with the aim of competing for the championship in the next season.
