SANTO DOMINGO, RD. — One of the most striking and viral symbols of the 2026 World Baseball Classic already has a new stage: the historic “flow jacket” used by the Dominican Republic team during their home run celebrations has been put up for auction by Major League Baseball (MLB).
In the first few hours, the article has generated notable interest among fans and collectors, reaching a bid of $5,510 after receiving a total of 74 offers. The garment, which has become a symbol of the Dominican team, was authenticated for its use in a specific game: the semifinal on March 15 against the United States during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
One of the most memorable moments occurred when the young star Junior Caminero broke the tie against Nicaragua with an imposing home run to center field, unleashing euphoria in the stadium. Upon crossing the plate, he was received with the emblematic jacket, accompanied by figures like Manny Machado, Julio Rodríguez and Oneil Cruz, who were also part of the celebration.
The initiative emerged as an evolution of trends seen in Major League Baseball, particularly with the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2025 postseason, where a celebration jacket captured the public’s attention. Inspired by that idea, the Dominican environment took it to another level, incorporating cultural elements such as a weight decorated with bananas and a chain, highlighting pride and national identity.
