Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s official account on X published new photos of him while detained in the United States, describing them as a “small gift of love and hope” for his family and supporters.
The messages accompanying the images, all dated June 25, 2026, say Maduro wanted to send a message to his grandchildren, children and those who support him.
“I want you to know that we remain firm, with our hearts filled with your love,” one of the messages reads.
Maduro also said that he and his wife, Cilia Flores, were sending hugs to their family and expressed confidence in Venezuela’s future.
The publication comes as Maduro remains in U.S. custody and faces charges including narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine and possession of weapons of war, according to the information provided.
