The team’s Vice President of Operations and General Manager, Audo Vicente, highlighted that the incorporation of Cordero brings versatility and depth to the infield, in addition to his offensive ability and experience playing multiple positions. Cordero, 28 years old and a native of Santo Domingo, comes from a standout performance with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes in the Mexican Baseball League, where in 91 games he recorded a batting average of .368, an on-base percentage of .407, 27 doubles, 22 home runs, 100 RBIs, and an OPS of 1.018. During the 2025 season, the player set a record with 16 consecutive games driving in runs, establishing himself as one of the most consistent offensive figures in the circuit. In LIDOM, he began his career with the Gigantes del Cibao in the 2019-20 campaign. His best performance came in the 2023-24 season with the Águilas Cibaeñas, where he batted .313 and reached an on-base percentage of .402. In addition, he has seen action in the Mexican Pacific League with the Naranjeros de Hermosillo, standing out with a .346 average in the 2023-24 season. With this signing, the Tigres del Licey continue to strengthen their roster with a view to the next season, betting on proven and high-impact talent in professional baseball.
