Santo Domingo – Dominican Nasim Núñez had a historic night at Nationals Park, hitting the first two home runs of his career in Major League Baseball during the Washington Nationals10-5 victory over the Miami Marlins.

Nunez’s first home run came in the bottom of the second inning, a solo shot that extended Washington’s lead to 4-0. In the eighth, he hit it again, this time with a two-run homer that sealed the final score.

The also Dominican Luis García Jr. contributed two RBIs, while the Colombian Jorge Alfaro drove in another for the Nationals. For the Marlins, Heriberto Hernández produced two runs and Agustín Ramírez scored one, but starter Eury Pérez took the loss after allowing seven runs in four innings.

Machado and Tatis Jr. homer, but the Padres fall to the Orioles

In Baltimore, Manny Machado (22) and Fernando Tatis Jr. (19) hit home runs for the San Diego Padres, but their effort was not enough and they ended up falling 7-5 to the Orioles.

  • Machado: 4-1, with two RBIs and a run scored.
  • Ramón Laureano stood out with two hits, two walks and a run scored.
For the Orioles, Dominican Samuel Basallo did not see action in the game.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. remains hot with the Blue Jays

In Cincinnati, Dominican Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a home run, drove in two runs and scored twice in the Toronto Blue Jays13-9 victory over the Reds. Mexican Alejandro Kirk also hit a home run, leading a demolishing attack of five home runs and 18 hits that sealed the series for Toronto.
