MIAMI. – Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo starred in a historic performance by scoring 83 points in the 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards, surpassing Kobe Bryant’s legendary mark of 81 points and recording the second-highest number of points scored in a game in NBA history.

Adebayo dominated the match from the first minutes. The star player scored 31 points in the first quarter, reached 43 at halftime and accumulated 62 at the end of the third period, leading Miami’s team to victory.
The player finished the game with an impressive offensive line: he scored 20 of 43 field goals, converted 36 of 43 free throws and added seven three-pointers in 22 attempts.
His performance was also marked by two new NBA records in a single game: most free throws made and most attempts from the free throw line.
The previous marks belonged to Dwight Howard, who had attempted 39 free throws in a game, while the record for made shots from the line was 28, set by Wilt Chamberlain and Adrian Dantley.
In the historical list of scoring in a single game, Adebayo only trailed behind the 100 points scored by Wilt Chamberlain in 1962.
In addition, the center broke the record for points in a game for a Heat player, which until now belonged to LeBron James with 61 points in 2014.
Simone Fontecchio also stood out in the match with 18 points for Miami (37-29), a team that extended its winning streak to six and reached its best record of the season above .500.
For the Wizards, Alex Sarr led the offense with 28 points, followed by Will Riley with 22 and Jaden Hardy with 17. The Washington team, which did not have Trae Young due to management of a right knee discomfort, added its ninth consecutive loss.
