Fedombal sidelines Jassel Pérez for indiscipline and leaves him out of the match against Mexico

SANTO DOMINGO..- The Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal) announced this Tuesday the separation of the player Jassel Pérez from the senior men’s national basketball team and the reasons for his exclusion from this Monday’s game against Mexico.

Through a press release, Fedombal stated that it made the decision to separate the player from San Cristóbal for unjustified acts of indiscipline, after being absent from training last Sunday, the day before the match against Mexico. Dominican Republic participated in the First Qualifying Window for the 2027 Qatar World Cup. The Dominican public packed the Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Palace, of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, to see the “people’s team” play at home. In its statement, Fedombal strongly condemns this type of behavior by the player Jassel Pérez, which it considers a disrespect to the institution, to the entire country, to the coaching staff, to the management and his teammates who always follow the incidents of the tricolor team, both on home soil and abroad. The statement emphasizes that acts of that nature are unacceptable for the national team and do not correspond to a player with the national team profile.
