Dominican wins silver in international martial arts tournament in the Philippines

Philippines.- Dominican athlete Victor Vialet won the gold medal in the double stick modality and the silver medal in single stick, during the prestigious international Filipino martial arts tournament, held in Cebu City from August 6 to 10. The event, which brought together prominent exponents of Eskrima Kali Arnis, featured the participation of competitors from countries such as England, Mexico, United States, Australia, China, and the host country Philippines, establishing itself as one of the most important events worldwide in this modality.

In addition, the championship highlighted the performance of Mexican Eduardo Palomares, four-time world champion, who once again took two gold medals in the double baton and single baton categories. Palomares not only shone in the competition, but also played a key role as technical support and mentor for Vialet, contributing his experience and strategies to boost the performance of the Dominican athlete.

“This achievement is the result of months of preparation and sacrifice. Competing, winning, and positioning the Dominican Republic in the cradle of EsKrima is an indescribable honor,” expressed Vialet after receiving his medal.
