SANTIAGO.- Cibao FC announced the hiring of Colombian midfielder Mateo Palacios, a reinforcement that joins immediately the squad that is currently playing the Liguilla, second stage of the Dominican Republic Football League.

29 years,
1.74 m and
70 kg, Palacios is an offensive player: he mainly performs as a
attacking midfielder (“10”), with the ability to play as an
inside midfielder or
inverted winger, and with his
right foot as his dominant leg.
Palacios joins the
champion team of Dominican professional soccer at a decisive moment: this
Saturday, the oranges clash against Universidad O&M for the
fourth matchday of the Liguilla. The match is scheduled for
6:00 p.m., at the stadium of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra.
In his journey through international soccer,
Mateo Palacios has worn the jerseys of
Marquense (Guatemala) —his last stop in the 2025-26 season—,
Persipa Pati (Indonesia) and
Bangladesh Police (Bangladesh); in addition, in Colombia he played for
Deportivo Pasto,
Alianza FC and
Boyacá Chicó, accumulating experience in different leagues and playing styles.
In his club career, he has
175 matches, with
17 goals and
23 assists. Currently, Cibao FC has
4 points in the Liguilla (record of
