SÃO PAULO. – The Brazilian forward Neymar addressed the speculation surrounding his physical condition and assured that there is no problem with his current state, while criticizing the versions that have emerged in recent days.

The Santos FC attacker expressed his annoyance through a video posted on his social media, where he stated that much of the information circulating about him are mere “theories” and “made-up stories”.
“For all those who are creating theories about what’s happening to me: nothing is happening,” stated the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player.
The soccer player also pointed out how difficult it is to deal with the constant criticism about how he handles injuries or his physical preparation.
“When I play injured they say I’m wrong. If I decide to think of myself, I’m also wrong. If I take care of myself, I’m wrong. And if I go out and play in pain, too,” he expressed.
Speculation intensified after the attacker decided not to participate in Santos’ match against Mirassol FC for the Brazilian Championship, due to muscle fatigue that he preferred not to risk.
That match generated special attention because it was planned that the Brazil coach, Carlo Ancelotti, would attend the stadium to evaluate the player with a view to a possible call-up for the upcoming international friendlies against the France National Football Team and the Croatia National Football Team in the United States.
Faced with criticism, Neymar questioned those who claim to know his situation without being close to his circle.
“There are people who act as if they are with me every day and start inventing stories as if they were the absolute truth,” he stated.
After missing the match against Mirassol, the forward will have a new opportunity to show his physical condition next weekend when Santos faces Sport Club Corinthians Paulista.
The attacker, who returned to Santos in 2025, has not played for the Brazilian National Football Team since October 2023, when he suffered a serious knee injury that kept him off the field for several months. Meanwhile, the coaching staff headed by Ancelotti has made it clear that they will only call up players who are fully recovered for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
