MIAMI, USA – Advertising spaces during Super Bowl LX, which will be played this Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, have reached historical values, with commercials reaching up to 10 million dollars, while the average price for 30 seconds is around 8 million, according to data provided by the NBCUniversal network.

Mark Marshall, global advertising director at NBCUniversal, the company that will broadcast the event, stated in declarations to Bloomberg that this average is close to the record set in the previous edition, when FOX held the broadcasting rights to the match.
The championship game of the NFL will be held at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, a venue with a capacity for 68,500 spectators and home of the San Francisco 49ers since 2014. Marshall explained that this edition highlights advertisements from the technology, pharmaceutical, and wellness sectors, and revealed that almost 40% of the advertising brands did not participate in the previous Super Bowl, reflecting the growing commercial appeal of the event. Beyond the game and the halftime show —which this year will be in charge of the Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny— commercials continue to be one of the main protagonists of the Super Bowl, considered one of the most-watched television programs in the United States. Last year’s edition recorded a record of 128 million viewers. Several companies such as Pepsi, Pringles, and Bud Light have already begun to promote on social media previews of the commercials they will present during the game, many of them with the participation of prominent figures of American television and direct references to competing brands. Marshall also specified that those who follow the match through Peacock, NBC’s streaming platform, could see different ads than those broadcast on the traditional television signal. The Patriots-Seahawks matchup revisits the 2015 Super Bowl XLIX, also played in Santa Clara, where New England won 28-24 in a memorable finish, decided by an interception by Malcolm Butler on the last play of the game.
