Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Víctor “Ito” Bisonó, assured this Monday that the facilities that will host the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 are “practically 100% ready,” while he led the handover of the two baseball stadiums at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
Bisonó explained that, although cleaning work and some final details are still being observed in several areas, the main works have already been completed and are ready to host the competitions.

“The last thing is to collect the debris, finish some little details on the sidewalks or in the hallways. But you can be sure; I invite you to tour all the facilities, because where the games are going to take place, they are practically 100% ready,” he stated.
The official reported that, in addition to the two baseball stadiums inaugurated this Sunday, the Government has already delivered the softball facilities and other sports venues planned for the regional games.

Likewise, he indicated that at the Olympic Center, only the formal handover of the volleyball areas, where a new rubber floor is being installed, and the taekwondo areas remains, works that, he said, will be completed during the next week.
“By next week, God willing, we could be concluding the delivery so that the internships can finish and we can open the final stage of receiving the games,” he expressed.
Bisonó acknowledged that some people consider the delivery schedule tight due to the proximity of the event, which will begin in 11 days, but maintained that this perception is due to the final work typical of any infrastructure project.
Finally, he reiterated that the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED) has delivered the vast majority of the sports facilities and stated that there has never been any concern that the venues would not be ready for the start of the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
