The athlete began her training in 2024 and quickly demonstrated discipline and talent by winning silver medals in two consecutive national women’s tournaments. Student of Clinical Psychology at the Open University for Adults (UAPA), combines his studies with two hours of daily training and leads, as captain, a team of 15 young people passionate about boxing. From a middle-class family, Celine has had the unconditional support of her mother, who helps her with travel expenses whenever she has to leave the city to compete. Her coach, Aníbal Ozoria, has also been a pillar in her training, although both recognize that the support of the authorities has been limited. Despite this, the young woman continues firm in the pursuit of her dreams, with determination and courage. With emotion, Celine expressed feeling proud to represent her province in this international competition. She took the opportunity to urge young people to believe in themselves, fight firmly for their goals, and stay in sports as a path of discipline and self-improvement. The boxer also confessed that her greatest desire is to represent the Dominican Republic in the Olympic Games, a dream that drives her every day to train with dedication and to demonstrate that, with effort and faith, everything is possible. For his part, coach Aníbal Ozoria urged the authorities and the community to provide greater support to this emerging talent, highlighting that his dedication and perseverance are a source of pride for the entire María Trinidad Sánchez province. Celine López’s ranking not only marks a milestone in Nagua’s sport, but also inspires more Nagua women to conquer spaces in disciplines traditionally dominated by men. Her story is an example of perseverance, discipline and passion for dreams, a demonstration that, even with limited resources, willpower can open paths to greatness.
