Arajet transports more than 10% of the passengers who entered or exited in May 2026

Buenos Aires was the route with the highest passenger traffic, while the airline exceeded 183 thousand total travelers in the month

Santo Domingo. – Arajet, the Dominican flag carrier, continues to consolidate its leadership in the national air market by recording the best May in its history in terms of the number of passengers transported.

According to the data published by the Civil Aviation Board (JAC) in its official statistical dashboard, the airline transported more than 163 thousand passengers to and from the Dominican Republic during May 2026, a figure that does not include connecting passengers.

With this result, Arajet represented more than 10% of all passengers who entered or left the country during that month, consolidating itself as the third airline with the highest passenger movement in the Dominican market, only behind JetBlue and American Airlines.

JAC statistics also reflect the growing prominence of national airlines. Together, Dominican companies transported 176,201 passengers in May, of which Arajet contributed 94%, while Skyhigh accounted for nearly 4% and Air Century about 2%.

The airline reported that, by adding the passengers in connection through its hubs in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, the total number of travelers transported during May exceeded 183 thousand passengers, setting a new monthly record for the company.

They explained that regarding performance by route, Buenos Aires became the destination with the highest passenger volume for Arajet during May, followed by New York, Miami, Medellin, and Bogota, evidencing the strength of the airline’s network in strategic markets in the Americas.

They indicated that the United States remains the main market for Arajet, accounting for approximately 23% of all its passengers. It is followed by Argentina, with 18%, and Colombia, with 17%. Together, these three markets represent nearly 60% of the airline’s total passenger traffic.

These results reflect Arajet’s sustained growth and the strengthening of its regional connectivity model, which continues to position the Dominican Republic as a strategic air hub for the continent.
