Community leaders give away turkey on Thanksgiving Eve in Providence

Rhode Island.– On the eve of Thanksgiving, community leaders came together to give away turkeys to families in need in the city of Providence. This event was organized by the Nueva Generación Duartiana, led by José Domínguez and Pedro Pineda, who coordinated efforts with several local leaders to make this initiative a success. Among the participants were the city’s mayor, Brett Smiley; Senator Ana Quezada; Councilman Juan Pichardo; Providence Police Chief Oscar Pérez; and Colonel Sonni Cepeda of the Dominican National Police, liaison in New York and Providence. Together, they worked to ensure that many families, especially from the Dominican community, could enjoy a special meal during this celebration. The station la mega 94.9 FM in Providence covered this event. This event not only reflects the leaders’ commitment to the well-being of all residents, but also highlights the importance of the Dominican community in Providence. Through solidarity actions like this, the sense of unity and collaboration among the diverse cultures that make up the city is strengthened.
