Santo Domingo.– The Second Collegiate Court of the National District postponed until July 22nd, at 9:00 in the morning, the continuation of the trial on the merits against the former Attorney General of the Republic, Jean Alain Rodríguez, and others involved in a case for alleged administrative corruption.
The decision was adopted after a three-hour and 45-minute delay in the start of this Monday’s hearing, according to sources linked to the process.
In the case, the Public Prosecutor’s Office accuses Jean Alain Rodríguez and other defendants of being part of an alleged corruption structure that reportedly operated during his tenure at the head of the Attorney General’s Office.

The judicial process is in the cognizance phase of the trial on the merits, in which the court evaluates the evidence presented by the prosecuting body and the defenses of the accused.
With the postponement, the parties must appear again on July 22, the date on which the hearing of the case is scheduled to continue before the Second Collegiate Court of the National District.
